In WooCommerce there are some of the most useful features to increase your conversion rate. All you’ve got to do is make the buying experience easy for your customers. When they feel comfortable buying and it becomes easier to find their desired products, then they’ll visit your site to purchase.
To make the purchasing experience great, a WooCommerce store should have a Search option. There are some plugins to add the search feature to the WooCommerce store. In this guide, we’ll show you how to add and use the search feature in WooCommerce.
Here in this guide, I’ve used a plugin that is enabled to add the search feature. Also, it shows the WooCommerce products in a table view.
Let’s see how to enable the search feature with the Woo Product Table Pro plugin and show the products in a product table. There are two types of search in this plugin. One is Instant Search and the other is Advanced Search. Both of the search procedures will be shown here.
The Woo Product Table Pro plugin follows the following major steps to show the products in a table view.
- First of all, install the plugin on WordPress and activate it to use it.
- Generate a shortcode and paste it on the desired page/post.
- Publish it and see how it looks.
Instant Search
Instant search in the product table is used to find the products that are already loaded in the table. Suppose in the product table there are 50 products loaded. Then from those loaded products, you can search for any product by Product Title/Category/Tag. If the searched item belongs to the previously loaded products in the table then the searched item will show in the table, if not, the table will be blank.
Step 1: Enable Instant Search Filter
Navigate to Dashboard->Product Table-> Configure and find the Instant Search Filter option. Then select yes from the text-box.

Step 2: Configure the shortcode generator
Now configure the shorcode generator to define how and which products will be shown in your table.
To configure the shortcode, navigate to Dashboard->Product Table->Add New Shortcode. There will be five different tabs. They are listed below.
- Column (used to select what will be shown in the table and set the table header)
- Basics (used to define which category/tag to include/exclude, set table template, etc.)
- Conditions (set sorting order, min/max price, stock/all products, post limit)
- Mobile Issues (customize the table for mobile, though it is responsive)
- Search Box And Filter (customize Advanced Search Box And Filter)

Step 3: Use the customized shortcode in a post/page
After all the customization, generate the shortcode. Copy the shortcode from the text box and paste it to a new page/post or into an existing one. Publish the page and head over to View Page to see the results.

Remember here, if the typed keyword related product doesn’t have it in the table, then the table will be blank after you search for it.
Advance Search
Enabling this feature, any item from the store can be found and show the related product in a product table by Product Title.
Step 1: Configure the shortcode generator
Follow step 2 in Instant Search.
Step 2: Enable Advanced Search
Dashboard->Product Table->Add New Shortcode->Advanced Search And Filter and select Show Search Box (Default) from Advanced Search Box.
To edit the existing shortcode, go to Product Table->All Shortcodes and select your desired shortcode to edit.

Step 3: Use the customized shortcode in a post/page
Then generate a shortcode, copy it, and paste it on a new page/post or into an existing one. Publish the page/post and go to “View Page.”

Here, in the search keyword text-box, type in the product title and click on search. The keyword-related products will be shown in a product table. To search for the product in a specific category or tag, just tick the relevant checkbox.
Taxonomy Search
Though in this plugin there is Instant Search and Advanced Search given as default, it also works with taxonomy search. So, if you have a taxonomy created by the taxonomy creator plugin, you can search for your product in a specific taxonomy.
To learn more about Taxonomy creating and customizing, please follow this link: How to use Custom Taxonomy in WooCommerce?
In that article, there was a custom taxonomy named “color.” Now, following that article, create a new taxonomy named “size” and edit your product size from the product page. Navigate to Dashboard->Products->All Products and edit the product you want.
Step 1: Customize shortcode for custom Taxonomy
Navigate to Dashboard->Product Table-> Add New Shortcode->Advanced Search And Filter “This for New Shortcode”
If you want to edit the existing shortcode, go to Product Table->All Shortcodes, then select your desired shortcode to edit, and find Advanced Search And Filter and add product_cat, product_tag, size, and color to the Taxonomy Keywords for the Advance Search Box. Also select Show Search Box (Default) from the Advanced Search Box.
Note: Use small letters in the text field.

Make other necessary changes from other tabs of the shortcode generator. Generate a shortcode and copy it.
Step 2: Show and use Taxonomy search
Paste the copied shortcode on a new page or post or into an existing one. Head over to the View Page and see the changes made.

There, any product can be searched by product category, tag, color, and size. Just tick the related checkbox and click the search icon.
Filter Product
The Woo Product Table Pro Filter is used to filter the products that have been loaded onto a table. Suppose a table has been loaded into a page or post, and you want to show the products that belong to a specific category/tag/color/size or custom taxonomy. Then you can use this filter.
Step 1: Customize the shortcode for the custom Filter
Navigate to Dashboard->Product Table-> Add New Shotcode->Advanced Search And Filter and select Filter Show (Default) from the Mini Filter box. Add product_cat, product_tag, size, color to the Taxonomy Keywords for Filter Box (as I’ve created size and color for custom Taxonomy)
Note: Use small letters in the text field.

Make other necessary changes from other tabs of the shortcode generator. Generate a shortcode and copy it.
Step 2: Show and use Taxonomy Filter
Paste the copied shortcode on a new page/post or into an existing one. Head over to the View Page and see the changes made.

Conclusion
In conclusion, by using the tips in this article, you can efficiently search WooCommerce products in the product table. You can save time by using the filters and searching by name or SKU. You can also use the advanced search to find products that match specific criteria. Finally, be sure to export your search results if you need to view them offline or share them with others.
This is a great tool for online stores, as it makes finding and purchasing products quick and easy. So, if you are looking for an easy way to search WooCommerce products, be sure to give the WooCommerce Product Table plugin a try!
